For 12 years, the talented performers of the Inishfree School of Irish Dance have stomped their way through the PIX11 studio to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  …And anchor Sukanya Krishnan couldn’t get over have many of the young dancers have grown up before her eyes during their many years of visiting the TV station.  Of course these world-class dancers can be seen on PIX11 every year, but they also have events all over the tri-state area.  This weekend alone, Inishfree Dancers are performing in 24 shows.

Currently, the company has four 1st place world champions and two dancers who have placed 2nd in this prestigious competition, as well as many other world medal holders.  At a recent regional tournament, one of their dance teams won 1st and 2nd place, while students won 1st in their solo categories.  For this year’s World Irish Dance Championships being held in Boston next week, Inishfree School of Irish Dance will have 27 dancers compete as soloist and three dance teams in the group categories.

Inishfree School of Irish Dance of NY has locations on Long Island: Massapequa, Port Jefferson, Selden, Shoreham/Wading River, Sayville; as well as The Bronx and Rockland County.  Call (631) 722-4939.
