(PIX11 TV EXCLUSIVE) Two days after her son was killed in a crosswalk by a tractor trailer on his way to school, Mehichata Diarrassouba opened up about the circumstances surrounding the 6 year old’s death.

Crossing guard Flavia Roman was supposed to be watching over as children like little Amar crossed the busy intersection at First Avenue and East 117th street.  But she was conspicuously absent.  Police Commissioner Kelly says she checked in by phone with the precinct supervisor at 7:30 am, saying she was on duty. But reportedly arrived roughly ten minutes after the child was run over.

While this mother grieves and allows her Muslim faith to guide her, other parents in the neighborhood are expressing their anger.

Funeral services for little Amar will be held tomorrow at a Mosque in Harlem.
