Father, son killed in New Jersey fire while daughter left critical

FLANDERS, New Jersey (PIX11) – A father and son were killed in a tragic New Jersey house fire Monday. Authorities say a young girl was also left in critical condition.

According to fire officials, the blaze broke out inside an apartment in Flanders along Main Street at around 4 a.m.


The adult victim has been identified as 52-year-old Hesham Moustafa. The younger victim was said to be 7-years-old.

The third victim, a young girl was listed in critical condition Monday afternoon. No other injuries were reported as other family members managed to escape the flames.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. Preliminary reports suggest space heaters are to blame.
