NEW YORK CITY (PIX11)– This weekend New York City hosted a mixed martial arts world expo, despite a state-wide ban on the sport.

Some of the nation’s best fighters were in town for a five-bout card at the Javits Center, as well as a two-day meet and greet session.

Organizers took advantage of a loophole in New York’s ban, while professional mixed martial art is illegal, amateur fighting is not.
