3 apartment houses destroyed in Jersey City fire

JERSEY CITY (PIX11) – An early morning fire moved through three apartment houses Thursday morning, leaving nearly a dozen homeless in Jersey City.

The fire started just after 4 a.m. in a home on Bayview Avenue and quickly spread to 2 nearby homes.

A total of 10 residents managed to escape the flames without injury, however two firefighters reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Police were still on the scene late Thursday morning investigating the cause of the fire.
