A worker has been rescued after getting trapped on a Roosevelt Island tram that was dangling high above the East River.

The worker reportedly got his foot stuck on top of the tram car. The tram car was atop one of the towers.

A second tram car was brought to assist in the rescue of the worker.

Service has been restored but residual delays are expected.
