Sky-high NYC rescue: Worker gets foot stuck in Roosevelt Island tram high above East River

There was high drama this afternoon in a Roosevelt Island tram over the East River.

Authorities say a mechanic was part of a team doing routine work on a car near a tower on Roosevelt Island, when his foot got stuck.

He was airborne for about an hour, before he was rescued and taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center in queens.

The tram was out of service for about two hours.
