Hundreds of guns turned in at Brooklyn gun buyback program

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (PIX11)– A gun buyback program was held in Brooklyn this afternoon.

Local officials urged people to turn in hand guns, assault rifles, and shotguns.

Those who turned in hand guns and assault rifles were given a 200 dollar bank card. Those who turned in rifles and shotguns were given a 20 dollar bank card.

The buyback was sponsored by council member Letitia James.

One hundred and fourteen guns were handed in.
