Newtown families hold emotional press conference

Families and the community of Newtown are calling for change. They call themselves “Sandy Hook Promise.”

They say we all have a responsibility to make something happen.

The grassroots initiative wants to make sure what happened in Newtown, never happens again.

It’s the brainchild of Lee Shull – who saw his small town forever transformed by a lone gunman.

The Sandy Hook Promise group held a news conference Monday in which photos of the young victims were displayed.

At an emotional press conference Monday, families who lost kids at Sandy Hook stood up to share their gripping stories.

Through their sorrow, they will now search for solutions.

The family of another victim launched a foundation to look at mental health issues in our nation.

Yet another, who lost little Ben Wheeler, made this vow: “We are not done being the best possible parents we can be for ben.”
