Subway riders and Brooklyn neighbors have been wondering what’s going on at the Smith-9th Streets subway station. Signs outside the construction zone say it was set for completion in 2012. The MTA says the contractor ran into problems with sub-contractors and the project’s unique design added to the delay. It should be open by April 2013.

Every year the MTA remodels dozens of stations. Projects range from minor fixes to complete redesigns. Work is set to begin along the Pelham Line/6 train in the Bronx at  Zerega Ave, Pelham Bay Park , Buhre Ave, Middletown Rd, and  Castle Hill Avenue.
