AURORA, Colorado (PIX11) – Prosecutors have started laying out their case against the man accused in the movie theater massacre in Aurora, Colorado.

In court Monday, Aurora police officers choked back tears as they described the details of that night. They arrived to find movie-goers screaming, bloodied and dead. They said the floor was sloshed with blood.

James Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and injuring 58 others during a midnight screening of the latest Batman movie.

One officer said, Holmes seemed “very, very relaxed when he was arrested.”
