CLINTON HILL, BROOKLYN (PIX11)– A man was gunned down in a Clinton Hill diner and police have a couple in custody for questioning. The shooting happened in a gentrifying part of Brooklyn. According to one Clinton Hill resident the diner is a popular late night hot spot.
“It is a hangout. Like after they go to the bar they go there for breakfast. But it can be shaky” said Valerie Skinner.

According to police the shooting took place around 5 a.m. A gun was pulled when a dispute between two men escalated. A 34-year-old man was shot in the abs and killed.

People in the area say this kind of incident doesn’t happen every day, but it is not uncommon to hear gun shots. “I’ve lived in the neighborhood for six years. You hear gunshots. It’s not every week but once a month you hear a gunshot around here,” said Clinton Hill resident Floyd Hayes.

Police have not identified the woman in questioning as a suspect. They are unsure whether she played a role in the shooting or is just a witness.
