NEWCOMB MUG SHOTLONG ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) — A  man is in jail after cops say he killed his grandmother over what channel to watch on TV.
According to Suffolk County Police, Clarence Newcomb, 25, was arrested Friday at the Kings Park home he shared with Kathleen Newcomb, 82. Investigators say he  told them he got into it with his grandmother, but didn’t say if a specific show sparked the argument.
Published reports say someone called cops around 4:35 a.m. saying a woman was lying on the floor. It’s not clear if Clarence placed the call. Officers arrived to find the elderly woman dead.
There was no sign of a weapon; the medical examiner will have to determine the exact cause of death.
Newcomb has been charged with manslaughter.
