Wild police chase and shooting in the Bronx

Shots rang out Tuesday in the Bronx after a plainclothes detective and a police officer attempted to pull over the driver of a 1994 Honda near Grand Avenue and Tremont Ave.

The driver, a 31-year-old male, hit the officer with his car and knocked him to the ground, according to police.

The 2nd police officer fired into the car, hitting the driver in the leg.  He was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.

The officer was also taken to Jacobi Hospital for treatment of a leg injury.
