If you spend a lot of time walking around the city this won’t come as a surprise. The number of tourists blocking your path on the sidewalk soared to a record this year.

Mayor Bloomberg announced the big apple set a new high of 52 million visitors pumping $55.3 billion in economic impact into the city.

That’s an over two percent increase over 2011.

Only one out of five tourists come from another country. Four out of five travel from somewhere else in America. Tourism is the fifth-largest industry in New York City.
