Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to open second tube Monday morning, Gov. Cuomo announced Friday.

NEW YORK — The both tubes of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel will be open Monday morning, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced Friday.

One of the tubes reopened Nov. 12 for cars and buses going toward Manhattan during the morning rush hour, and toward Brooklyn during the evening rush hour.

The second tube, inundated with sea water that damaged electrical, lighting, ventilation, communications and surveillance systems, remained closed.

During Hurricane Sandy nearly 100 million gallons rushed into the tunnels.

Both tunnels will be open in both directions at 6:00 a.m. on Monday
