Ann Mercogliano

Ann Mercogliano is an Emmy-nominated general assignment reporter for PIX11News, working on PIX11News at 10pm.

She has more than 10 years experience working in local news. She started her career as an intern at WABC-TV, before working in The White House while attending George Washington University.

From there, she landed an internship working for George Stephanopoulos at ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

Ann learned the business from the inside out, working for veteran reporters and anchors in New York and Washington, D.C.  She started on the assignment desk, before going on to report in Valdosta, Ga., for WCTV, covering South Georgia and north Florida.

From there, Ann jumped to Harrisburg, Pa. working as a general assignment reporter for ABC27. She then made it back home to WNBC-TV, where she was nominated for a New York Emmy for her coverage in London of the Royal Wedding for WNBC-TV’s New York Live 5 p.m. show, where he also filled in as an anchor.

With Hurricane Sandy, Ann has covered nearly every major story since returning to New York City. She was one of the first reporters to make it to Breezy Point, where she reported for several days for WCBS-TV during and after the storm. She also landed the first and only television interview with Etan Patz’ uncle during the FBI investigation of the cold case in SoHo.

Ann is thrilled be working for the news station she and her family grew up watching. A native New Yorker, she is happy to be doing what she loves in the city she loves so much.
