    Abortion rates fall to lowest since Roe v. Wade: report

    The abortion rate in the U.S. has fallen to its lowest level since Roe v. Wade legalized the procedures nationwide in 1973, according to a report by the Guttmacher Institute. Abortion rates declined to 14.6 percent in 2014, the most recent year for which data is available, the institute that supports legalized abortion found.     American Airlines plane hits another aircraft at LaGuardia; no injuries reported

    EAST ELMHURST, Queens — An American Airlines plane backed into another plane at LaGuardia Airport Tuesday, Port Authority officials said. The American Airlines plane was pushing back from its gate when its wingtip hit an American Eagle aircraft, operated by Republic Airlines, Port Authority officials said. Customers have been moved to other flights. “We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” a spokesperson for American Airline told PIX11. The airline is providing passengers with other flights. No injuries were reported.

    Transit workers bargain for higher wages, other improvements with MTA as contract expires

    New York City transit workers failed to reach an agreement with the MTA for higher salaries before their contract expired at midnight, according to the Transport Workers Union.     QUEENS VILLAGE, Queens — A woman was stabbed in Queens Village Sunday afternoon, NYPD officials said. She was attacked on the first floor of a Queens home around 3:10 p.m. The woman was rushed to a local hospital for treatment to a large gash across her chest.
