TWO BRIDGES, Manhattan — A person was stabbed inside a Manhattan apartment building Friday afternoon, officials said.
Details were scarce in the early stages of the investigation. A law enforcement source told PIX11 News that at about 1:30 p.m. a resident on the fourth floor called 911 when the victim, covered in blood, knocked on their door for help.
Neighbors said police have taped off the crime scene and there were blood stains on the floor.
The stabbing happened on Rutgers Street, near Cherry Street, in Two Bridges Tower, FDNY officials said.
The victim was hospitalized in serious condition, according to fire officials.
It's unclear what led to the stabbing or whether the victim lives in the tower or was a visitor.
