NEW YORK — Heavy snowfall is expected across New York City and much of the tri-state area Tuesday.

NYC was briefly under a blizzard warning, predicting up to 2 feet of snow. Much lower totals are now expected in what was set to become a potentially historic snowstorm.

Significant or not for the region, here's a look at some of the biggest snowstorms in New York City history.
