Get a glimpse of NYC’s most iconic holiday window displays

NEW YORK — From Macy’s to Saks Fifth Avenue, department stores light up the streets of Manhattan with the most decorated holiday window displays.

New Yorkers and tourists flock to Fifth Avenue to get a glimpse of Saks Fifth Avenue’s window display. This year, the theme is called “Land of 1000 Delights.” The store described it as “an enchanting landscape of colorful candy and festive fashion.”

Saks’ display will be up until Jan. 6 and operate from 5 to 11 p.m.

Another popular display up Fifth Avenue is Lord & Taylor. The display will be its 29th one, titled “Enchanted Forest.” Catch it until Jan. 5.

Barney’s New York on Madison Avenue opted for the “#PeaceLoveJoyProject” theme that blends fiction, imagination and reality. The cast of “South Park” was even featured.

The display will run until Jan. 3.

Macy’s in Herald Square went the traditional route with Santa and Mrs. Claus making an appearance with their elves. For those who want a short trip to the North Pole, head to the eigth floor of the department store to go to “Santaland.”

The last day to view Macy’s window display will be Dec. 26.

Bloomingdale’s on the Upper East Side is lighting up its window display, literally. All eight windows at the department store will have a different design made by artists and their own take on the word “light.” The chandeilliers will be auctioned off later.
