MIDTOWN, Manhattan — New Yorkers braved the bitter chill Saturday night to enjoy the holiday festivities in Bryant Park.
The Hottos from the Rochester area took a day trip to the city while the snow was already gently falling upstate.
"We live in the snow belt," Kim Hotto told PIX11. "We think in feet, not inches."
A dusting of snow is heading our way with more than a few inches expected north and west of the city.
Tourists and New Yorkers alike were bundling up: scarves, hats, gloves and layers upon layers, particularly for those who work in the Holiday stalls in Bryant Park.
"It's Alpaca and it really keeps me warm," Jill Scholsohn, of Riverstone Jewelry, told PIX 11.
The woman running the stall next door, Lisa Devo, owner of the Soap and Paper Factory, said "you just have to meet be around a lot to keep warm."
While there were some cheeky Santacon costumes, barely dressed appropriately, others were getting prepared for the arctic blast headed our way.
"I even have a hat on top of a hat," Savannah Alston of Bayville, New Jersey, told PIX11.
