1 dead, 1 injured in Brooklyn double shooting

CANARSIE, Brooklyn — One man is dead and another was injured following a shooting  in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened in the vicinity of Farragut Road and E. 80th Street just before 3 p.m.

Police say the victims were inside a BMW when gunfire erupted.

A 21-year-old man was shot at least once. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The other victim, a 20-year-old man, was shot in the thigh. He is listed as being in stable condition in an area hospital.

Police have not released the name of the deceased pending family notification.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are not known at this time.

There are no arrests at this time.
