DARLINGTON, Ind. — Authorities in Indiana have released audio from a 911 call made by a mother accused of killing her two young children.
According to FOX59, Brandi Worley, 30, is heard telling the 911 dispatcher around 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 17: "I just stabbed myself and I killed my two children."
Montgomery County officials have charged Worley with two counts of murder in the deaths of her two children, ages 3 and 7. Worley pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday morning, FOX59 reported.
In the 911 call, Worley tells the dispatcher she killed her children after her husband told her he wanted a divorce and was planning on taking their two kids. According the court documents, Worley admitted to killing her children to keep her husband from taking them.
“My husband wanted a divorce and wanted to take my kids," Worley says in the 911 call. "And I don’t want him to have my kids.”
Shortly after, Worley's mother arrives home and Worley handed the phone to her. The dispatcher tells the mother to go to the children's bedroom to check on the kids, a discovery that is met with hysterics from the mother.
Worley spent more than a week in the hospital recovering from her self-inflicted stab wound to the neck.
She was booked Monday into Montgomery County jail, where she is being held without bail. Jail records indicate Worley has a trial date of April 11.
The two young children, Tyler and Charlee, were laid to rest Nov. 22 in Darlington.
