Woman critically injured after being struck by car on Upper East Side

UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan — A woman is in critical condition after being struck by a car on the Upper East Side Monday night.

Police say the 66-year-old woman was crossing the street in the vicinity of E. 84th Street and First Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle.

She was taken to NY Presbyterian Hospital where she is in critical condition.

The vehicle remained on the scene.

Police have closed off 84th Street between First and York avenues as they investigate. Drivers are urged to seek alternate travel routes.
