MORRISANIA, The Bronx — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in front of a Bronx bodega Monday afternoon.

The victim, 24, was standing in front of a bodega located at 981 Union Ave., in the Morrisania section of the borough just before 3 p.m.

Police say the man was found unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A male suspect was seen running from the scene after the shooting, according to police.

The identity of the victim has not been released pending family notification.
