SUNSET PARK, Brooklyn — Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole a car in Staten Island with a baby inside and drove the car to Brooklyn before exiting the car and leaving the location.

A 2008 Ford Edge was allegedly stolen from a Dunkin Donuts parking lot on Richmond Hill Road on Staten Island, police sources said.

The carjacker drove the SUV across the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and abandoned the vehicle in Sunset Park in Brooklyn with the 3-month-old baby inside.

The baby was unharmed but was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, police said.

A woman believed to be the baby's mother was seen at the Sunset Park location being questioned by police.

Police sources said the woman left the car running with the baby inside while she went into the Staten Island Dunkin Donuts.

The man police are searching for is described as being in his early 30s and was last seen wearing dark clothing, according to police.
