Rush-hour C and E trains delayed; man struck by E train

MIDTOWN, Manhattan — Southbound C and E trains were delayed because of a man hit by a southbound E train at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue on Monday morning, police officials said.

The man was hit around 8:45 a.m. Monday. Police officers and paramedics were on scene. It is not yet clear if the person was fatally struck. There is no identifying information available for the man.

Commuters have been advised to expect delays. Southbound A trains are running on the D line from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to West 4th Street-Washington Square. Southbound E trains are  running on the M line from 5 Avenue-53rd Street to West 4th Street-Washington Square.

Several others were also recently struck by trains at the Times Square station nearby. Someone was hit during rush hour on Nov. 9. Police also arrested a Queens woman who allegedly shoved a woman to her death in front of a 1 train on Nov. 7.
