OZONE PARK, Queens — A student was caught allegedly bringing and hiding a handgun in a middle school in Ozone Park, Queens Wednesday morning.

The boy, 12, brought the handgun to J.H.S. 202 Robert H. Goddard Middle School at 138-30 Lafayette Street, said Derek Jackson, Director of Law Enforcement Division of Local 237.

Jackson said the boy allegedly showed another student the handgun, who then told the principal.

School Safety agents found the gun hidden in a classroom, Jackson said.

The middle school is a “non-scanning” school and does not have metal detectors.
