Suspect injured in police-involved shooting in the Bronx

THE BRONX — One suspect was injured and another was taken into custody following a police-involved shooting in the Bronx Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. at 165th Street and Rev. James Polite Avenue in the Morrisania section.

Sources tell PIX11 that police responded to a robbery in progress when the shooting occurred.

Police encountered two suspects with guns and shots were fired. One of the suspects was shot and transported to the hospital with a minor injury. The second suspect was taken into custody.

The incident is affecting a polling site in the area, sources say.
