NEW YORK  — The W train made its highly anticipated return to the subway tracks Monday morning after six years.

The route runs between Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard in Queens and Whitehall in Lower Manhattan.

The train will operate weekdays from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The service was suspended in 2010 due to MTA budget cuts.
