BOROUGH PARK, Brooklyn — More than a dozen students were sent home from a Brooklyn school Wednesday morning after exhibiting flu-like symptoms.
For the second day in a row, officials at P.S. 160 in Borough Park sent home students who complained of headaches, dizziness and nausea. Sixteen students were sent home Wednesday morning.
One student was transported to an area hospital.
The FDNY's hazmat team conducted a sweep of the entire building for environmental hazards or carbon monoxide, but found nothing.
The Department of Education said it was investigating the incident along with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
A spokesperson for the DOE said the symptoms were consistent with a stomach flu and the school would be thoroughly disinfected as a precaution.
The school will be open on Thursday.
