NJ State Police are investigating reports of a needle found in Halloween candy (NJ State Police)

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.J. — New Jersey State Police are investigating reports of a needle found in Halloween candy in the Commercial Township of Cumberland County.

The victim told authorities that between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. she discovered a sewing needle in a Tootsie Roll candy that her child received during trick-or-treat Monday evening.

There are no suspects at this time.

As authorities continue to investigate, they strongly recommend parents to check their children’s Halloween candy.
