EATONTOWN, N.J. — Four New Jersey friends have turned their love for a fun backyard activity into a business, and it’s taking the tri-state area by storm. No, it’s not horseshoes or corn hole, they’re throwing hatchets.

Stumpy’s Hatchet House is the first indoor hatchet throwing facility in the U.S., created by close friends Mark and Trish Oliphant and Stuart and Kelly Josberger.

Now in their seventh month of bringing this alternative form of recreation to the area, Stumpy’s Hatchet House has become a place where friends can unwind and groups gather to celebrate bachelor, bachelorette and birthday parties. They also offer team building, fundraising and franchising opportunities.

A two hour session costs $40 per person and includes safety training, a hatchet throwing lesson and hatchet and pit rental. Feel free to bring your own food and drinks!
