Thousands of Jersey City residents were without power Monday night. (PSE&G)

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Electricity returned to Jersey City after thousands of customers were without power in Monday night.

According to PSE&G, there were roughly 10,000 customers without power in Jersey City.

The outages were reportedly caused by equipment failure. Officials say the problem stems from Morgan Street.

PSE&G said crews are on the scene and power should be restored within an hour.
