Boy, 14, with special needs allegedly stabs student in Bronx classroom

EASTCHESTER, the Bronx — A boy was taken to the hospital after he was allegedly stabbed by another student with special needs at a school in the Bronx Friday afternoon.

The stabbing happened at P.S. 723 on Bivona Street in the Eastchester section of the Bronx about 1 p.m., according to EMS. One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Derek Jackson, a representative of Local 237 City Employees Union, confirmed a 14-year-old boy who has special needs stabbed another 14-year-old in the stomach.

Both of the students were in a classroom at the time.
