16-year-old student stabbed outside Brooklyn high school

EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn — A 16-year-old male student was stabbed outside a high school in East New York Thursday afternoon, police say.

It happened outside W. H. Maxwell Career and Technical Education High School at Glenmore and Pennsylvania avenues.

The boy, who was stabbed in the stomach, stumbled into his school for help.

He was rushed to Brookdale University Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

Police say he is not cooperating with authorities.

The Union of School Safety Agents say this is a gang-related stabbing and agents say they are fearful of the recent rash of violence outside of schools.

No arrests have been made.
