New Jersey hairstylist arrested for pepper-spraying client who was unhappy with services: police

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. — A New Jersey hairstylist was arrested after police say she pepper-sprayed a dissatisfied client.

According to NJ.com, 35-year-old Maryam Simpson was cutting a client's hair at their apartment on Oct. 13 when the client reportedly expressed she was unhappy with the cut.

During the altercation between the two women, police say Simpson pepper sprayed her client's face and then fled.

Police later located and arrested Simpson, who goes by "Freddy" on Craigslist to advertise her hair-cutting and styling services.

She was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon in the alleged incident, Bloomfield police said.

The client was treated for minor injuries, police said.
