NEW YORK — A 14-year-old girl who vanished from her Bronx high school has found safe a week after she was reported missing, her family told PIX11 News Monday.

Further details about how Alyssa Baez was found were not immediately available.

In a case that concerned residents across the five boroughs, the teen was reported missing Oct. 17 from Dewitt Clinton High School in the Bronx.

Five days later, Baez was seen with an unknown male entering the Far Rockaway/Mott Avenue train station in Queens, police said, releasing surveillance photos of the pair with a plea to the public to help find the girl.

Baez’s mother, Tiffany Valentin, told PIX11 News Monday her daughter had been found and is safe. Previously, she’d said the teen’s disappearance was unlike her.

“Something is not right,” she said at the time. “My daughter would not do this.”
