Woman dies when MTA bus strikes, pins her down in Lower Manhattan

LOWER MANHATTAN — A woman was fatally struck by an MTA bus in Lower Manhattan Friday.

A QM7 bus was traveling northbound at the intersection of Trinity Place and Exchange Valley in the Financial District about 5:30 p.m. when it struck a woman.

Pedestrians informed the driver that there was a woman under the back of the bus, police said.

The driver stopped the bus and found the female pinned under.

The woman, who has not been identified, suffered severe head and body trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

The driver remained at the scene and was later transported to the hospital for evaluation.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
