4-month-old boy found unresponsive in Bronx home dies: NYPD

BAINBRIDGE, The Bronx — An investigation is underway into the death of a 4-month-old boy at his home in the Bronx, police said.

It was about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday when officers were called to a home on Broadway near West 256th Street, police said. They arrived to find a baby unconscious and unresponsive “with no apparent trauma.”

The child, identified as Duane Pollard Jr., was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A police source said the location where the boy was found is listed as a temporary shelter.

The medical examiner will determine the baby’s cause of death. No arrests have been made in the case, police said.
