TOMS RIVER, N.J. – Officials are investigating a police shooting in Toms River.

It happened Sunday evening.

A spokesman for the Toms River Police Department tells the Asbury Park Press that none of the township's police officers were injured.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department are investigating.

It's unclear what led to the shooting.

The prosecutor's office says no other information will be released until Monday morning.
