The pit bull attacked the boy and woman in an East Harlem apartment building Friday afternoon.

EAST HARLEM, Manhattan — A 16-month-old boy and woman was rushed to the hospital after a pit bull attacked them in an East Harlem apartment building Friday.

The woman was babysitting the 16-month-old boy about 12:30 p.m, according to police. They were in a laundry room of the building located in the corner of First Avenue and E. 101 Street  when the dog attacked the boy.

The pit bull scratched the boy in the arm and lip and bit the woman in the leg, police said.

They were taken to the hospital and treated for the injuries.

It’s unclear what happened to the pit bull.
