Photo released of suspect wanted for shooting NYPD officer with pellet gun in Queens

JAMAICA, Queens — Police released a photo of the man who is accused of shooting an NYPD officer in the forehead with a pellet gun on Wednesday.

The photo, released Friday, shows the suspect, described as being around 20 years old, sitting in the back passenger seat of a brown 2015 Nissan Altima.

The man was in the car that was heading eastbound on Jamaica Avenue between 168th Street just after 5 p.m. He pulled up next to a plainclothes officer and shot him in the forehead with the pellet gun. The man then fled the area.

The officer was taken to the hospital and was treated for his injury.

The car the suspect was in had a Missouri license plate with the number "YH4H3T."
