Police say surveillance video shows the 58-year-old Darryl Whipple walking into the crowded chain restaurant and dousing the woman — who is described to be in her 50s — with some sort of fluid and then lighting her on fire.

The victim and the suspect did know each other, Jacksonville police said.

Officers responding to the scene found Whipple sitting on a curb next to the restaurant. He was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Golden Corral released a statement after the incident.

"We are cooperating fully with the authorities regarding their investigation into this matter," the statement said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the employee and her family at this time. "
