Man, 38, struck and killed by hit-and-run driver at Bronx intersection: NYPD

MORRISANIA, Bronx – Police say man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver at a Bronx intersection late Monday.

It happened at East 162nd Street and Courtlandt Avenue around 9:40 p.m., police say.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 38-year-old man with injuries to his head and body. He was pronounced dead.

The victim was later identified as David Pajarity-Mendez of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.

Police say the vehicle was dark-colored and possibly a Jeep Cherokee model.
