MANHATTAN — A banner featuring Russian President Vladimir Putin was hung on the Manhattan Bridge on Thursday.
The banner, which shows the Russian president over the word “Peacemaker,” went up on the Brooklyn side shortly before 2 p.m.
Tweets indicate the banner was hung by two men. It is unclear who the men are or why they displayed the banner.
In 2014, a pop-up shop named “Peacemaker” opened in Manhattan selling T-shirts featuring Putin. The shop wanted to highlight “the heroic side” of the Russian leader.
