MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Police are investigating a shooting at a strip club in Mount Vernon early Monday.

Authorities say it happened at Sues Rendezvous on Grataman Avenue.

A 25-year-old woman was shot once in her upper left thigh area and taken to a local hospital where she was treated for her injury, police said.

No other injuries were reported.

“Our Quality of Life Task Force will continue to focus on this establishment and others like it that fail to secure their premises and their patrons,” said Commissioner Ron Fatigate in a news release. “Thankfully, there were no serious injuries. Police presence was strong in the area and the response to the scene was swift.”

Fatigate said several “key players” are being questioned about the incident.

A weapon was also recovered at the scene.
