EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan — A man has been charged in connection with the death of an 82-year-old woman that occurred Friday night.

Gary Bias, 23, was arrested and charged with second degree murder and attempted murder, according to police.

Ella Mae Bias, 82, was found Friday night dead and bound with tape in her East Village apartment after another woman, 39, who was also bound, broke free and called police.

Police responded to 711 FDR Drive around 5:30 p.m. and found Bias with her wrists and ankles bound with tape.

EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.

Sources say an argument about money may have occurred the incident.
