BUSHWICK, Brooklyn -- PIX11 News had good news for the Brooklyn Tigers, four little league teams in Bushwick that needed new equipment.

Several organizations stepped up, including the Yankees, Modell's, Allstate, Brooklyn Baseball League, and Pitch-in for Baseball.

"The kids are overwhelmed with the generosity of these groups after PIX11's story," Damiana Rodriguez said.

On Tuesday, PIX11 News met the moms that live in the Good Counsel homes in the Bronx. Many of them are homeless and pregnant and rely on a van to do errands and go to the doctor.

"The van is beyond repair. And it broke down the other day when we were taking a mother home with her new baby," said Chris Bell, the director of Good Counsel.

The organization still needs $10,000 to buy a new van. You can donate, here.

A Bronx mother told us the disturbing story of hypodermic needles in her neighborhood on city sidewalks and grates.

After our story aired, Sanitation department, NYPD and Verizon stepped up and cleaned up at least 12 hypodermic needles.

PIX11 News will stay on top of the stories.
